What is a safe driver?
In Dubai 'safe driver' usually refers to a designated driver. A driver who would drive your car when you are not in a position to drive either due to a medical condition or under influence of alcohol.
How can I book a driver?
Booking a driver is easy. Simply call or message us on WhatsApp at +971 56 724 7946.
Is Comfort Drive a licensed company?
Yes. We have registered and licensed since early 2016 with Dubai Economic Department.
How does the 'safe driver' service work and what details are required?
We usually require your desired pick up time, location and drop off location to confirm your booking. Once confirmed our driver will reach your location and call you usually 5-10 minutes before the booked time.
Do I need to book a driver in advance?
We recommend booking at least an hour ahead, though we're often able to provide a driver in less than 30 minutes on a quieter day.
Do I get to choose the same driver?
Yes, where possible: if your regular driver is available and not on another booking, we'll assign them again.
What are your rates for a designated driver?
AED 80 on weekdays (Sunday-Thursday) and AED 100 on weekends (Friday-Saturday) for most locations within Dubai. Other services (hourly, airport, school, RTA, and garage pickups) have their own rates; see each service page for details.
Do you charge differently for some locations?
Yes. A pickup or drop-off in Mirdif, Rashidiya, Al Warqa, Damac Hills 2, Palm Jebel Ali, Jebel Ali, Dubai Parks, Sevens Stadium, Emaar South and Dubai South adds AED 30 to a designated driver, hourly or airport booking, and the booking form works it into your total before you send it. Trips over 35 km, and places further out such as Al Ghantoot and Al Ghadeer, are still quoted per booking: message us the pickup and drop-off and we'll confirm the rate first.
Which areas does this service cover?
We cover almost all areas within Dubai city limits, with other emirates available on request.
Do I have to pay extra if I delay or alter the timing?
Moving a booking is free up to 30 minutes before the agreed pickup time: the earlier you tell us, the easier it is to re-plan the driver. If you are simply running late on the day, your driver waits 15 minutes at no charge; beyond that, waiting is billed at the AED 40 hourly rate, pro-rata.
Can I drop off or pick up someone on the way?
Yes, an additional stop can usually be arranged. Let us know when you book and we'll confirm any extra charge.
Will I be charged if I cancel a booking?
Cancel free of charge up to 30 minutes before your pickup time. Just message us on WhatsApp. Cancelling inside that last 30 minutes carries a AED 50 fee, because a driver has usually already been assigned and is on the way to you. Nothing is charged when you first message us, so there is nothing to refund.
Who bears the responsibility of accidents or traffic fines?
If an accident is due to our driver's fault and police issue a red paper, we take responsibility and cover the repairs at our workshop. Traffic fines caused by driver error are also covered by us, not you.
What are the modes of payment?
We accept cash as well as card payments (Visa, Mastercard) and Apple Pay/Samsung Pay. Let us know your preference when you book.
Can I get a receipt for my payment?
Yes. Please message us on WhatsApp to get your receipt.
What are your service hours?
Most of our services (hourly, airport, corporate, RTA, and garage pickups) are available 24/7. Designated driver bookings are most common through the evening and late-night hours, but can be arranged any time of day.
Are all the drivers licensed to drive?
Yes, all our drivers hold a valid UAE driving licence and Emirates ID, with an average of more than five years of driving experience.
What's the difference between Comfort Drive & Taxi services?
Comfort Drive supplies the driver only, and they drive your own car anywhere in Dubai. A taxi supplies both the car and the driver, and your own car stays where you left it.
