Only if it's over three years old. Cars under three years from first registration are exempt from RTA testing, so you can renew the Mulkiya without an inspection. Once a car passes three years old, annual testing becomes mandatory at every renewal. That's where our pickup service comes in.

It depends how long it's been expired. Within a month, you're still legally fine to drive it. We treat it exactly like a normal booking at AED 100. Beyond a month, it's illegal to self-drive under RTA rules, so we arrange a recovery vehicle instead: AED 200 extra for a regular sedan or SUV (AED 300 total), or AED 300 extra for a sports, lowered, or modified car needing a flatbed (AED 400 total).

We always book an appointment first: testing centres charge AED 100 extra for walk-ins, so we never take a car in that way. Booking the slot is part of our service and costs you nothing extra; just send your Mulkiya on WhatsApp and we'll arrange it.

Our drivers take vehicles to the nearest RTA-approved testing center in Dubai, such as Tasjeel or Shamil centers. You can request a specific center at the time of booking.

AED 100 covers pickup, the test itself, and return, when your registration is valid or still within its 1-month grace period. If it's been expired more than a month, recovery is an additional AED 200 (regular) or AED 300 (flatbed) on top of the AED 100. We always book the RTA appointment for you, so the AED 100 walk-in surcharge never applies. The only other extra is a failed test: the RTA's AED 70 retest fee plus a second AED 100 for the retest trip.

You get the RTA's report on WhatsApp listing exactly which items failed, and your car comes straight back to you: the first AED 100 covers the trip whether the car passes or not. Once the faults are repaired, the retest is a fresh booking at AED 100 for pickup, test, and return, plus the RTA's own retest fee at the centre: AED 50 for the re-inspection and AED 20 knowledge and innovation, so AED 70 in total. There is no free retest window. The RTA doesn't require an appointment for a re-inspection after a failed test, so no walk-in surcharge applies on the second visit either. If the repairs need a workshop, our garage pickup and drop-off service can handle that leg too, so you never have to drive the car anywhere yourself.

If an accident happens on the way to or from the RTA testing centre due to our driver's fault and police issue a red paper, Comfort Drive takes responsibility and arranges repairs at our workshop. Traffic fines caused by driver error on that trip are covered by us, not you.
